I just have to brag a lil bit

This week at Harris Teeter is triple coupons. So for those of us that absolutely LOVE to eat and cook and those of us that only have one income coming in triple coupons are AWESOME!!! I do whats called once a month cooking which means at the beginning of each month I go to walmart and purchase all my ingredients to make usually about 15 or so meals that can be assembled then frozen. At that point when I'm at walmart I use all my coupons that are valued over $1. Then the next day I Assemble the ingredients and pop everything into the freezer. Some of our family favorites are Cajun porkchops, chicken noodle casserole, meatloaf, and 4 cheese baked ziti. So they are all frozen and ready to go then every morning I pick out whats for dinner lay it on the counter and let it defrost (Tonight is chicken). When its time for dinner I preheat the oven and its usually ready in about an hr. So 2 days worth of work for a months worth of food... Which brings me to why I'm bragging, the other great thing about OAMC (once a month cooking) is I only have to deal w/ the grocery store once a month other than once or twice just to pick up the fresh fruits and veggies. UNLESS its triple coupons at HT (Harris Teeter) Then i get out all those coupons I have saved valued at under $.99 and check their weekly specials and make my list. NOW ONTO THE BRAGGING! This trip I got free toothbrush and toothpaste b/c I had a $.75 coupon which was tripled PLUS they were on sale which means HT was giving stuff away! Plus like I say I do OAMC and predue chicken breast were b1g1 (buy 1 get 2 free) so I stocked up and got 6 pkg of chicken for the price of 2. And that went for lunch meat and sliced cheese as well! So yes maybe being thrifty is a pain in the butt, however it does make you feel pretty darn good to see a receipt where you spent $99.35 an saved $108.83. GO ME GO ME!!!

Is it bad to eat the guinea pigs treats?

My kid LOVES pet food. Let me start by saying we keep Logan gated innto the living room or else he would be into everything. So whenever we are about to go somewhere I open the gate and instead of running to the door he always makes a pit stop at the dog food, and always eats a big handful. Now if you've ever smelled dog food it stinks and I don't imagine it tastes any better than it smells. And the truth is I dont ever wanna learn if it tasts like it smells. But for one reason or another Logan loves it. So a while back I thought maybe he just does it to get a rise out of me, nope b/c I stopped making a big deal out of it in fact I dont say anything at all and he still does it every time. A big handful of dogfood right into the mouth. Well today I catch him eating the guinea pigs treats. I just dont get it, it cant possibly taste good. To tell you the truth it just grosses me out and I like some very wierd food. But anyway happy eating Logan!

That Kid sure does like BLUE CHEESE

We went to Lunch the other day w/ Omah (my mom) and Mammaw (my grandma) and I ordered a salad and fried squash well I like both of those with blue cheese. And apparently so does Logan he was SLURPING it up off the plate. Then after he licked the place clean... yes literally licked it clean :) yummy. I had to ask for more blue cheese (which is when the waitress was looking at us like we for crazy for letting the kid slurp the blue cheese) and he grabs the little cup and starts to drink it! Whats wrong w/ this kid? I guess he just LOVES blue cheese!

OK OK I BOUGHT THE WRONG PASSIE!

This morning me and Logan had to go run some errands Like usual. Well we are in the store and he starts to fuss so I reach in my purse to get a passie (pacifier) because "that'll shut him up" :) well oops I forgot to bring a passie so I hand him his juice... it doesn't work, then I try bouncing the stroller also doesn't work, so I am 2 stores down from a Target that sells passies so we finish where we are and go to Target to get a pack of passies b/c we have alot more errands to run. So we go to the baby section and the only passies they have are either 0-6mo (too small) or the EXACT SAME KIND he uses but the nipple is made out of Latex not Silicone so I think cool whats the big deal he wont be able to tell but boy was I WRONG! so we finish shopping and pay and I open the passies and hand one to him, he looks at the passie then looks back at me w/ a mom what the hell is this look on his face and I tell him "Logan is a passie its just like your passies just try it." So he puts it into his mouth and there is the look again... so now I'm just trying to ignore it and by this time we are in the car on the way to the next place when I hear a scream and see a passie fly by my head and hit the dashboard! Well needless to say I BOUGHT THE WRONG PASSIES! OOPS MY BAD AND I PROMISE IT WILL NEVER EVER HAPPEN AGAIN. He wouldn't even take them out of the plastic wrapper and when he did he certainly wouldn't put em in his mouth. Its too funny and who said a baby cant make their own decisions... I beg to differ they most certainly can. He even fell asleep in the car on the way home w/o a passie which NEVER happens! But in the end we got home and he got a REAL passie.

HAHA A few things that happened this week

The sandbox the dreaded sandbox! It never fails at least once a day he pretends to be one of the "puppies" which is very cute when he gets on his hands and knees and slurps out of the dogs water bowl... Like I say that's real cute till yesterday he tried to "eat like Puppy" and stuck his face right into the sandbox. Then he looked at me, what does he want me to do? So of course I tell me "well when you eat like puppy you have to drink like puppy" and he goes off and sticks his face in the water bowl. Happily ever after at least till the next thing.

That same day we went to the park. He is playing and acting like he knows what he's doing, then he comes running down the ramp just as another little girl comes running up the ramp. Yep you guessed it they COLLIDE the little girl was at least 4 and alot bigger than Logan so I just watched it unfold. Logan tucks and rolls and ends up about 6ft from where the collision happened. Then my lil man gets up, looks at the little girl who is now screaming and running to her mommy and shrugged his shoulders and goes off to play. I pick him up just to make sure he's ok and we go check on the little girl who is now just fussing but is fine. Well all is now well on the playground but man he's tough!
